REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
Throughout life we encounter many paths of growth and undergo times of transition and change. Having a counsellor to share the process with can provide insight, comfort and connection. My role is to support, guide and bring awareness to the focus areas of your life. The coping strategies that you might have learned growing up may now be maladaptive later on in your life. This can create extreme angst and stress if you do not update and heal these parts. Together, we can process those life events that were not acknowledged, and help you move towards the life you want to live.
I work through an integrative lens in therapy and apply a combination of my therapeutic trainings: EMDR, IFS parts work, Psychodrama, Gestalt, Somatic, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy. My values both in and outside the office are to live and interact with empathy and a multicultural, anti-oppressive lens. I believe that we are all gifted with unique skills. My strengths-based approach helps you identify your own innate resources and create adaptive changes in your life. I aim to provide evidence-based work and neurobiology in a didactic and enjoyable way!
My experience includes working at a mental health and addiction center and working at a non-profit focused on intimate partner violence. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association for Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and have a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology.
