REGISTERED CLINICAL COUNSELLOR

"Your emotions make you human. Even the unpleasant ones have a purpose. Don't lock them away. If you ignore them, they just get louder and angrier"

- Sabaa Tahir

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association for Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

My work is centred on relationship-focused therapy—whether that’s supporting individuals navigating relational challenges or working directly with couples looking to rebuild connection and trust. I bring particular expertise in working with BIPOC clients, offering a culturally grounded, trauma-informed approach that honours identity, history, and lived experience.

With years of experience working alongside youth, adults, and couples, I bring a deep understanding of how our relationships—with ourselves, our partners, and our cultural identities—shape mental health. Whether you’re unpacking the impact of past relationships, struggling with emotional intimacy, feeling stuck in painful relational patterns, or seeking to strengthen your current partnership, I provide a space to explore your relational world through an Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based, and somatic lens. This means I help individuals and couples build stronger, more connected relationships—especially when communication breaks down, emotional needs go unmet, or historical and cultural trauma affects connection.

Many individuals I work with want to understand why they keep ending up in the same kinds of relationships, why it’s hard to feel close to others, or how to stop self-sabotaging when things feel vulnerable. Through our work, we uncover how early attachment experiences shape current patterns and help you create new, healthier ways of relating—both to yourself and others.

Clients often describe me as having a kind, calm, and humorous energy in sessions and share that I ask thoughtful, challenging questions that guide them toward deeper insight. I approach our work with genuine curiosity and care, and I’m someone who won’t shy away from being clear and honest—especially when we’re navigating emotions or patterns that feel confusing or overwhelming.

I bring extensive experience supporting those who have felt unseen or marginalized in traditional therapeutic spaces. My clinical background includes developing and facilitating groups for anxiety and EMDR-based trauma processing within BIPOC communities, as well as research focused on immigrant populations and their experiences accessing marriage counselling. These experiences continue to inform my commitment to anti-oppressive, culturally responsive mental health care.

If you're looking for a therapist who blends depth, cultural awareness, and compassion—and who will support you in making real, lasting changes in your relationships and inner life—I’d be honoured to work with you
